About The Position

This position reports directly to the Executive Director of Information Services in the Division of Development and Alumni. The primary duties of this position include providing computer, programming, web, and system support within the Division of Development and Alumni. Salary Grade : 14 Please see Staff Compensation Structure for salary ranges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Acquire knowledge of advancement software applications, programming procedures, and standards 2. Perform general application administration and access management tasks. This involves answering questions regarding the use and configuration of systems and creating/managing/deleting user accounts for these systems 3. Design, code, and test applications, web applications, software processes and reports, as well as modify existing applications to reflect changes in system requirements or hardware configuration 4. Provide technical setup, support, and diagnostics on information technology related hardware including computers, smartphones, tablets, printers, and scanners. Provides coordination with secondary support if needed 5. Prepare and maintain documentation to manage development, revisions, and end user utilization for systems and software utilized by the division 6. Performs related duties assigned Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibility. The above essential duties are representative of major duties of positions in this position. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. Other duties may be assigned to the above consistent with the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job. Not all of the duties may be assigned to a position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Substitution allowed: Experience can be substituted for education.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, written, and customer service skills
  • Ability to concentrate/focus for long periods of time
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks throughout the day
  • Highly self-motivated and organized
  • Excellent in documenting processes and instructions for others to follow
  • Excellent in teaching others how to use information technology
  • Strong desire to learn new technologies
  • Experience with installation and support of PC and/or Macintosh OS/application software
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on computers and audio/video equipment
  • Experience with using and administering service desk software
  • Experience with Drupal, CSS, html, JavaScript and/or other web related software and languages
  • Experience supporting and troubleshooting audio visual and presentation equipment and software
