Are you ready for your next career challenge? Leidos is on the lookout for a Computer Scientist to work in Honolulu, HI. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience in supporting the INDOPACOM J2 mission. The primary location for this effort is at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (JBPHH), Hawaii. Candidates must currently possess a TS/SCI security clearance in order to be considered. Note: This role is part of a prospective contract, contingent upon final award notification. Anticipated start date would be mid to late May 2026. Job Summary: Applies core computer science principles to help develop technical solutions that support intelligence operations. This role assists in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software systems that process and visualize multi‑source intelligence data. The Computer Scientist follows established best practices and modern development methods to build scalable and secure tools that meet mission needs. The position requires a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and hands‑on experience creating solutions that comply with DoD cybersecurity guidelines while supporting the delivery of new capabilities to the operational environment.

Requirements

  • Current TS/SCI security clearance on day 1
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in computer science, software development or similar technical roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical field
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and software development frameworks
  • Experience with software development methodologies (SDLC, Agile, etc.)
  • Experience with database design and management
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and architectures
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and critical thinking
  • Experience developing code using DevSecOps practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Apply computer science disciplines such as software engineering, algorithms, distributed systems, cloud computing, full‑stack development, and database management as part of ongoing development efforts.
  • Contribute to the design and development of technical solutions that support JIOC mission requirements and help close intelligence gaps.
  • Support the development and optimization of automated intelligence processes and analysis tools.
  • Assist in investigating, prototyping, and evaluating emerging technologies and processes to enhance intelligence capabilities.
  • Help integrate new technologies into existing operational architectures to improve intelligence effectiveness.
  • Implement and integrate open‑source, commercial off‑the-shelf (COTS), and government off‑the-shelf (GOTS) technologies within established frameworks.
  • Participate in evaluating the functionality, effectiveness, and suitability of systems and applications to identify and address shortcomings.
  • Prepare technical documentation, contribute to code reviews, and support technical guidance for development activities.
  • Collaborate with government, military, and contractor personnel in complementary mission areas to help identify and address technical deficiencies.
  • Recommend process improvements informed by operational needs and emerging technologies.
  • Participate in intelligence planning conferences and exercises, J2 working groups, intelligence system capability development meetings, Joint and national‑level intelligence coordination boards, and technical exchange meetings with mission partners.
