About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Computer Science Teacher to join our team at Lakeside Junior High School. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the world of technology, coding, and problem-solving while preparing them for a technology-driven future.

Requirements

• Applicants must hold a current Arkansas teaching certificate.
• Any applicant who holds an out-of-state teaching certificate must provide documentation showing they have started reciprocity procedures as required by the Arkansas Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in Computer Science aligned with curriculum standards.
• Teach foundational and advanced topics such as programming (Python, Java, or similar), algorithms, data structures, web development, robotics, or other related subjects.
• Foster critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration in the classroom.
• Incorporate real-world applications of Computer Science to connect with students’ interests.
• Develop assessments to measure student progress and understanding.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and integrate them into the curriculum.
• Mentor students in extracurricular activities such as coding clubs, hackathons, or robotics competitions.
• Maintain communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
• Collaborate with the school community to develop cross-curricular projects.
