The Bridgeport Public Schools is seeking a Computer Science Teacher for grades 9-12 at the Information Technology Magnet for the 2025 - 2026 school year. The position requires the establishment and adjustment of instructional goals and objectives to align with district and school goals, as well as curriculum policies. The teacher will design lessons that promote problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills through real-world problems. Maintaining standards for student behavior and fostering self-discipline and positive relationships among students is essential. The role also involves ongoing professional development, planning learning activities that cater to individual differences, and developing assessments that balance content knowledge with problem-solving skills. The teacher will monitor and evaluate student progress, encourage parental involvement, and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Establishes and adjusts instructional goals and objectives to reflect district/school goals and curriculum policies.
  • Designs lessons that provide opportunities for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills.
  • Establishes and maintains standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships.
  • Commits to ongoing professional development in content area and pedagogy.
  • Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students.
  • Develops, administers, and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments.
  • Monitors and evaluates students' progress in relation to district/school curriculum and policies.
  • Encourages and maintains the involvement of parents and community members in support of instruction.
  • Involves parents in the assessment of their children's progress and needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required certification: 047.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Three years' successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
  • Experience teaching web design tools preferred.
  • Experience in the use of educational technology.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and human relation skills.
  • Salary range: $50,825.00 - $105,070.00 based on BA - 6th year.
  • Position in accordance with the Agreement between the Bridgeport Education Association (BEA) and the Bridgeport Board of Education.
