About The Position

We are currently looking for a Computer Science/Software Engineering Intern to join our team in Chantilly, VA. Responsibilities We’re seeking a highly motivated computer science, data science, engineering, or math student for a summer 2025 internship position in our Chantilly, VA office. As a Software Engineering intern with MTSI you will focus on a project involving cloud-hosted services, data visualization technologies, and modern web frameworks. This position allows for a hybrid (in-office and remote) work schedule. · Help to develop and maintain the code base of the MTSI Analytic Suite for Space Technologies (MASST) to display the orbits and coverage of earth-orbiting satellites · Work under the guidance of senior software developers. · Attend daily standup meeting with other developers to go over daily workload and current issues · Learn to develop for both the UI and back end of the MASST application · Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions about software development best practices Qualifications · Computer science, data science, engineering, or math student with some software programming experience · General knowledge of Linux · Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. · Two years of school experience (must be at least a rising junior) · GPA of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale Desired Skills · Proficiency or familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python · Strong problem solving skills and self-motivation · Ability to work will both independently and in collaboration with others · Experience having worked on a frond-end web application. · Experience with a modern front end web framework (e.g. Vue, React, Angular) · Experience with unit testing Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance. Please note: US Citizenship is needed for most positions.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a US government security clearance.
