About The Position

The Computer Science adjunct works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and is responsible for meeting all scheduled classes and providing instruction in accordance with the philosophy and objectives of CEC, the community college, and the approved course syllabus.

Requirements

  • Masters degree & 18 graduate credit hours in computer science required.
  • Related degree, credential, and/or occupational experience in: Computer Information Systems, Computer Networking, Computer Science, Computing, Information Technology, Computer Systems Analyst, Software Systems Developer, Web Developer, Database Administrator, Network Systems Administrator.
  • Prior to start, approval will be required by community college partner.
  • All offers of employment are conditional upon a successful background check and references.
  • As required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), the selected applicant must verify, within 72 hours of employment, his/her legal right to be employed in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Upholds CEC’s beliefs found on the CEC website.
  • Develops and administers Computer Science education curriculum consistent with community college objectives.
  • Develops lesson plans and instructional materials to enhance learning.
  • Designs learning activities to demonstrate the application of course work to everyday life.
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and modifies instructional methods accordingly.
  • Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
  • Organizes and maintains Infinite Campus (IC) for accurate and complete recordkeeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and daily attendance as required in CEC policies.
  • Ensures that student conduct conforms with CEC’s Student and Family Handbook and CEC policies.
  • Collaborates with other CEC staff members and participates in staff meetings and professional development as requested by the Head of School.
  • Other duties as assigned.
