About The Position

The Computer Room Operator for the 2nd shift plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the organization's data center and computer systems during evening hours. This position is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and maintaining computer hardware and software environments to support business operations without interruption. The operator will respond promptly to system alerts, perform routine maintenance tasks, and coordinate with technical teams to resolve issues as they arise. This role requires vigilance and attention to detail to prevent downtime and ensure data integrity. Ultimately, the Computer Room Operator helps maintain a stable and secure computing environment that supports the organization's operational goals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and network fundamentals.
• Ability to work independently during the 2nd shift hours, typically evening to overnight.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills to document and report system status and incidents.
• MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a data center or computer operations environment.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and system management software.
• Knowledge of AS400, Outlook, and computer experience is desired.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and coordinate with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Call and print daily loads for the warehouse.
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills to conduct business over the phone and via email.
• Process and bill customer orders.
• Enter customer orders when necessary.
• Troubleshoot computer and printer errors.
• Reliable, flexible, and self-motivated.
