About The Position

This is a long-term contract position that is mostly remote, but candidates must reside in Wisconsin. The role involves monitoring batch job activity, resolving job failures, and ensuring smooth operation of scheduled processes across multiple environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MVS or OS/390 systems, JCL, and Control-M scheduling software.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with OS/390 or MVS mainframe systems
• Proficiency in JCL and job scheduling tools (preferably Control-M)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• High level of dependability and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Tivoli, ChangeMan, SDSF, and AJS
• Familiarity with CICS, TSO, IDMS, DB2, VSAM
• Knowledge of LAN and Thin Client environments
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze batch job flows across mainframe and client-server environments
• Troubleshoot job abends and modify or interpret JCL to resolve issues
• Submit and manage scheduling requests using Control-M
• Serve as a liaison between development teams and production support
• Document issues and resolutions using Tivoli
• Perform functional testing and create ChangeMan packages
• Maintain job documentation and ensure compliance with operational standards
• Attend internal meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Provide training and support to other staff as needed
