About The Position

The City of Baltimore is seeking a Computer Operator IV who will provide work direction and guidance to computer operators. Requirements

• Associate of arts degree in electronic data processing or computer science from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of experience in operating mainframe computers and related peripheral equipment.
• Knowledge of computer operations procedures and methods of preparing mainframe computers for operation.
• Skill in operating computers and related peripheral equipment.
• Ability to use job control language.

Responsibilities

• Provide work direction and guidance to computer operators.
• Monitor data processing equipment and investigate, correct, and resolve errors, malfunctions, and problems.
• Prepare mainframe computers for operation.
• Independently perform a wide variety of computer operation functions.
• Assign, review, and approve computer operations work and train computer operators.
