Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Monitor and control Colleague processes and system maintenance tasks. Contact Information Systems or Network Services on equipment or Datatel failures. Monitor Datatel backup jobs and execute Colleague processes for numerous departments according to the prepared shift schedule. Change Network Services backup tapes and file them or prepare them for pickup by offsite data storage company. Scan and link documents for various departments. All duties are not performed on each shift, however, all operators need to know how to do all tasks and cover for absences as needed.

Requirements

  • Completion of College level computer courses required.
  • Two (2) years working in a data center environment using Microsoft, Microsoft Office and scanning systems required.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of one (1) year certificate program for Computer Science preferred.
  • Four (4) years or more working in a data center environment using Microsoft, Microsoft Office and scanning systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate, control and monitor the Datatel system.
  • Execute Colleague processes, email output results and report to users.
  • Scan and link various document types for user departments.
  • Fill-in as needed to substitute coverage during operator absences.
  • Document cancelations and email the report and any output to Information Systems.
  • Review operator notes and instructions.
  • Document new operator instructions and review with Computer Operator III.
  • Store active tapes in appropriate locations.
  • Assist Information System Programmers in the installation, testing and evaluation of new and existing software.
  • Assist Network Services staff in evening and weekend problem determination and resolution.
  • Assist in preparation of schedule for nightly and weekend production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
