The Computer Operator I position at IGT involves providing entry to intermediate level monitoring and support for operating equipment in a data center environment. The role is crucial for ensuring the flawless operation of gaming solutions across various jurisdictions, requiring strong technical skills and the ability to analyze and resolve network technology issues. The operator will be responsible for executing predefined operational processes, monitoring system performance, and addressing customer requests while adhering to established guidelines and service-level agreements.

  • Provide entry to intermediate level monitoring and support for operating equipment for one or more jurisdictions, ensuring flawless operations 24/7.
  • Conduct intermediate level analysis of systems and servers pertaining to host systems, middleware, applications, and existing tools.
  • Monitor logical security through the use of established tools and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve network technology issues associated with IP network devices and backbone transports.
  • Carry out, verify, and restore predefined processes in operational checklists to guarantee successful completion of draw processing, day-end processing, system balancing, and file system maintenance.
  • Coordinate and address internal and external customer requests based on established guidelines.
  • Submit recommendations to create and maintain operational procedures and checklists.
  • Follow service-level agreements and industry-approved IT protocols.
  • Two-year technical college degree or comparable experience of one - four years.
  • Able to navigate through Unix/Linux (Red Hat)/AIX/VMS/DOS and perform basic commands.
  • Working knowledge of VMware environments and monitoring tools, FTP/SFTP protocols.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Retailer POS, call center tools/functions, Tivoli, Nagios, OP5, SolarWinds, RUnscope, Monitis, Symantec Veritas, and Jira.
  • Knowledge of business administration systems, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent written/oral reporting skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with gaming industry technologies and systems.
  • Familiarity with IT service management tools.
