The position involves installing, configuring, and maintaining physical network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. The role requires performing routine maintenance, including hardware health checks to ensure optimal device performance and replacing outdated or faulty hardware as part of lifecycle management. Additionally, the job includes network cabling tasks, ensuring structured cabling is in place to provide redundancy and minimize points of failure, as well as labeling and documenting physical connections for future reference and troubleshooting. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring data center environmental controls meet operational standards, installing analyzing devices to track environmental factors, and regularly inspecting racks and equipment for potential hazards. Furthermore, the role involves ensuring power redundancy for critical network devices, testing power failover systems, and analyzing power usage to ensure compliance with the data center’s power capacity limits. The candidate will also implement physical security measures for network hardware, assist in inventory management of network hardware, and track warranty and support information.

  • Regularly test power failover systems to confirm minimal disruption during outages.
  • Analyze power usage and ensure the physical infrastructure is within the data center’s power capacity limits.
  • Ensure network hardware complies with physical security policies.
  • Assist in implementing physical security measures such as security cameras and biometric access control.
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure hardware is secure and no unauthorized access has occurred.
  • Implement backup devices and maintain redundancy for critical network equipment.
  • Conduct regular testing of failover devices to ensure readiness in case of hardware failure.
  • Assist the Government with inventory of all network hardware and track warranty and support information.
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or related field.
  • Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in network support and implementation.
  • Proven experience in supporting systems across public, private, and hybrid environments.
  • Strong understanding of network technologies.
  • ASWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect or similar certifications desired.
