About The Position

The IT Lead for the Maryland Board of Dental Examiners (BDE) will manage and deliver Tier 1 IT services to BDE business users while serving as the primary liaison with the MDH Office of Enterprise Technology (OET) for all Tier 2-5 IT services. This position will oversee day-to-day IT operations, enforce security and compliance with state and federal regulations, and ensure adherence to MDH and DoIT policies. This position will also develop and implement BDE-specific IT policies, manage technical staff and IT resources, and coordinate closely with OET to support advanced infrastructure, network services, and enterprise applications.

Requirements

  • Two years and six months of experience, one year of experience planning, integrating and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area computer networks and an additional eighteen months of experience converting data from project specifications by preparing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools; planning, installing and maintaining data communications network lines and devices; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software.

Benefits

  • Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents.
  • As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled.
  • The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits.
  • You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
  • Leave may be granted to a contractual employee at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
