About The Position

Properly trained paraprofessionals can play important roles in improving student achievement in schools where they can reinforce and enhance a teacher's effort in the classroom. A Computer Aide supports students with technology and grade-level computer skills, while also supporting staff with troubleshooting technology-related needs.

Requirements

  • 2 years if passing college credits is preferred or Pass ParaProfessional Test
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Pass a background check
  • New Hire Packet with Administration Building
  • Possess knowledge and a solid understanding of Google Workplace
  • Skillful in creating and managing Google Classroom
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve technology needs related to software or hardware

Responsibilities

  • Lead groups of students or classes of students through an established computer curriculum
  • Planning lessons and activities that facilitate students' acquisition of basic and advanced computer skills.
  • Instructing in a manner that develops students' confidence in their technical abilities.
  • Observing and managing classroom dynamics
  • Tracking and communicating students’ progress in technology skills
  • Support and implement all policies and regulations as designed by each respective school and NLCS.
  • Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of classroom teachers.
  • Planning for student needs in collaboration with building administrator, teachers, and district E-coaches.
  • Continue professional learning within Google Workspace (formerly Google Suite).
  • Is positive in working with children and helps build their self-esteem.
  • Guides students in working with other students.
  • Has the ability to make use of a variety of resources to assist students in meeting their goals.
