The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for the part-time, temporary position of Adjunct Assistant Professor in Computer Information Systems with a focus on Cybersecurity. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about teaching and committed to fostering an inclusive educational environment. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean, helping students achieve their maximum potential in mastering course content, and assessing student learning outcomes. The position requires maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the field of cybersecurity, continuing professional development, and utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties. Additionally, the faculty member will be expected to maintain professional conduct and ethics, assist with curriculum development and review, serve on college committees, and participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the area dean as needed. The instructional assignment may encompass teaching courses across all levels in this discipline, with specific courses offered varying by campus. For this position, courses may include Computer Security (CISS). The adjunct faculty pool is open continuously, and applicants will remain active for two years, with the opportunity to be contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. The initial maximum salary placement is determined by academic degree, upper/graduate level units earned, and/or related professional experience, in accordance with the Los Rios College Federation of Teachers Contract.
