About The Position

The Computer Information Analyst I position at the University of Cincinnati's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences is designed to support the technological needs of faculty, staff, researchers, and students. This role involves hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The analyst will collaborate with various teams to align technology support with academic and research needs, contributing to a dynamic educational environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field; or an Associate's degree with two years of experience; or four years of basic to intermediate level computer hardware related experience.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in desktop technologies administration and support.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in Windows, Mac, and Linux desktop support.
  • Experience with audio-visual technologies.
  • Previous engineering experience, particularly with engineering software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support overall technology needs for faculty, staff, researchers, and students within the College of Engineering and Applied Science.
  • Install and configure hardware and software for end-user desktop and mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve problems associated with system hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards to protect against system vulnerabilities.
  • Participate in IT asset management, technology specifications, purchasing, email moderation, and audio-visual support.
  • Provide advanced support for computing needs across multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile devices.
  • Collaborate with DTS and DTS CEAS IT teams to align technology support with academic teaching and research needs.
  • Maintain flexible work hours to support users outside of standard times and engage in research projects subject to ITAR regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
