About The Position

The purpose of the Computer Hardware Architect position is to lead the design, development, integration, and sustainment of secure, mission‑critical hardware solutions that enable the Joint Mission Integration Environment (JMIE) program to deliver resilient command‑and‑control capabilities across classified facilities and remote field locations; by translating stakeholder requirements into robust hardware architectures, conducting validation, verification and quality‑assurance reviews, and ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity and physical‑security policies, the architect supports the build‑out, deployment, maintenance, and future technical refresh of JMIE systems, thereby enhancing the Department's ability to share, protect, and exploit critical data in a secure, interoperable environment. CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES Has strong Independence to act on: Design and implement the hardware components for command-and-control solutions which can be deployed to secure facilities and field/remote locations. Work onsite in a classified environment. Work directly with stakeholders in a technical role; lead or participate in planning, technical exchange meetings, and design reviews with customers Evaluate user requirements and recommend appropriate systems and equipment Collaborate with other technology teams to design hardware systems and components Incorporate DoD Cybersecurity and Physical Security policies in the design and sustainment of the command-and-control solutions. Solve hardware-related problems with the goal of supporting a wide range of technological advancements Create models and designs of new systems Produce functional and engineering diagrams, schematics and technical drawings Troubleshoot processes related to computer hardware functionality Present and explain designs to managers, clients, and fellow employees Work in a lab to run tests, analyze the results, and recommend courses of action Monitor the production and installation of computer hardware systems Perform validation reviews to ensure that hardware installations meet stakeholder requirements Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure that computer hardware designs are accurate Perform verification reviews to ensure that hardware installations are compliant with approved design Produce documentation to support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and operator usage of systems designed Plan technical refresh and hardware update of existing systems; recommend timelines for technical refresh Document work plans and status in Agile Management systems (e.g. Jira, Confluence, GitLab)

  • Certified Data Center Design Professional (CDCDP) Required
  • Candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance and CI Polygraph within last 5yr, or ability to pass CI polygraph within 6mo of hire.
  • Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required.
  • Candidates will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score).
