About The Position

BGS is seeking a Computer Hardware and Integration Engineer within Government Training Engineering (GTE) in Hazelwood, MO or Oklahoma City, OK. The GTE Hardware Design team is responsible for the design and development of aircrew & maintenance training devices. A successful candidate will have the ability to maintain and evolve computing standards, support hardware design and integration for onboard computer systems, crew station I/O, networking, video processing, and cockpit displays, and serve as a centralized technical resource for computer-related issues across programs. This role coordinates with suppliers on new designs and obsolescence management, supports acquisition and production engineering activities, and acts as the subject matter expert for computational systems used across all GTE training platforms. The successful candidate will drive common solutions across programs, capture and share lessons learned, and contribute to continuous process and product improvement. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at the Hazelwood, MO facility or the Oklahoma City, OK facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience in computing architecture
  • Proficient with Microsoft office and tools
  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Deep understanding of computer architecture design enabling you to identify production improvements, reduce rework, and provide actionable recommendations that influence early product design decisions
  • Strong grasp of design principles and techniques, including drafting standards, and drawing best practices, to ensure clear, unambiguous documentation and consistent interpretation across teams
  • Broad familiarity with multiple engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, and systems) allowing you to interpret cross-discipline requirements, anticipate integration issues, and communicate effectively with subject-matter experts
  • Detail-oriented proactive problem solver with a systems-level view
  • Ability to synthesize technical issues and drive practical, compliant solutions across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and materials teams

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and evolve computing standards and standard computer drawings; research and recommend new computers and related products
  • Coordinate computer definition, acquisition, supplier engagement, and obsolescence management
  • Support hardware design and integration for computers, crew station I/O, networking, video processing, and cockpit displays
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for computer issues, lessons learned, and cross-program problem resolution
  • Use supply chain and production tools to track acquisitions, monitor/resolve nonconformance reports (NCR), and manage production/excess parts
  • Support production engineering and contribute to process improvement initiatives within GTE
