The Computer Forensics Investigator is responsible for performing a wide range of computer forensic investigations and analyses and reports results as required or directed. Under the direction of the Corporate Security Investigations Manager, the Computer Forensics Investigator provides advanced-level analysis pertaining to the forensic examination of computer related hardware and software, in support of Corporate Security, Human Resources, and Legal department investigations. In this role you will: Performs computer forensic analysis as directed to identify any potential threats or risks to GM Financial. Assists Corporate Security investigators during investigations in a confidential and appropriate manner. Performs hard drive forensics, recovery services and cellular telephone acquisitions in a forensically sound manner. Through appropriate channels, collaborates with Cybersecurity on potential information security / data loss incidents. Supports the collection and correlation of information for trend analysis and other purposes. Provides metrics on number and distribution of incidents on a monthly basis.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in computer forensics analysis and investigation required
  • Proficiency in forensic tools and skilled in open-source intelligence gathering
  • Ability to analyze digital evidence and adherence to forensic best practices to ensure evidence integrity
  • High moral standards and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Stays updated on forensic techniques, emerging threats and new investigation methods
  • Ability to connect complex data points and uncover hidden patterns
