About The Position

At our job site location at White Sands Missile Range NM, we are looking to support efforts from the Department of Defense tied to High Energy Laser (HEL) test and evaluations (T&E). You will get to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team, in collaboration with Government engineers preparing a test site to support HEL testing. You will be at the forefront of supporting T&E of HEL systems in a unique environment.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a bachelor's or associate degree program in electro-optics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, computer science or information technology.
• Must be able to pass an NCIC background check to meet security requirements for facility access.
• US citizenship is required.
• Experience using basic hand tools, wire snips, crimps, screw drivers, etc.
• Be able to lift 50lbs or more and work in tight spaces.
• Good computer skills using Windows are required, with proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with MS Visio.
• Experience with Video Streaming.
• Experience with Network Installation.
• Experience with Fiber Optic cables.
• Experience with DoD is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support efforts from the Department of Defense tied to High Energy Laser (HEL) test and evaluations (T&E).
• Work alongside a multi-disciplinary team and collaborate with Government engineers.
• Aid in the design and building of custom control rooms to support T&E requirements.
• Use tools to terminate Ethernet cables and route cable runs to meet wiring diagrams.
• Follow complex instructions and guidance.
• Understand wiring diagrams and engineering schematics.
