The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles is hiring for a Computer Center Lead Engineer for a position within its IT Services Administration at its headquarters location in Richmond, VA. This position is open to current DMV employees only. The Computer Center Lead Engineer leads and manages projects for various administrations, with responsibility for technical and functional development from definition through conceptual modeling, design, construction, testing, and implementation. These projects are typically high-priority, have demanding time requirements, and are large and/or very complex due to technology, often spanning multiple platforms and/or user and system interfaces. The role requires innovation and a "big picture" evaluation during conceptual design. The incumbent interacts with internal and external management, users, and technical staff to ensure effective and satisfactory products, and negotiates/coordinates dates/tasks with DMV departments and external entities. This position will primarily focus on computer systems under DMV's Motor Carrier and Tax Services business areas.
