The Computer Associate (Technical Support) position is responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks, including the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of network elements such as switches, servers, workstations, storage devices, and CCTV cameras. The candidate will assist with the deployment and troubleshooting of computer equipment, mobile devices, and desk phones, as well as set up new users with access to various systems and provide technical support to end-users. The role may require visiting remote facilities and performing security system administration, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks. This position has three levels, each requiring different years of experience and responsibilities.

  • Perform deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of network elements such as switches, servers, workstations, and CCTV cameras.
  • Assist with the deployment and troubleshooting of computer equipment, mobile devices, and desk phones.
  • Set up new users with access to LAN, email, printer, internet, and various software applications.
  • Provide technical support to end-users and visit remote facilities as needed.
  • Perform security system administration, system upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory, full-time experience in mainframe computer, mid-range computer, LAN or WAN computer environments, and/or local desktop support.
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university and three years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described above.
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years of satisfactory, full-time experience as described above.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
  • Experience working with Fiber Optic Data Communication Network including Cisco L2/L3 Switches.
  • Well-versed with Cisco IOS Command Line Interface.
  • Experience providing hands-on technical support related to PC/Wyse Box, Multi-function Printers, Microsoft 365 Apps/Services.
  • Experience working with LAN/WAN/VLAN, Switching/Routing protocols, and Networking Tools/Techniques.
  • Familiar with proprietary systems such as Genetec Security Center, Nexus Server, and Lenel Access Control System.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
