Overview CT Tech Shift: Full-Time; Weekend Package; 9p-9a Friday, Saturday and Sunday Eligible for a $7,500 Sign On Bonus. A Registered Imaging Specialist CT is responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures on patients of all ages which requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis and for assuming responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivialent
  • An accredited associate's or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology
  • Holds Permit-to-Practice radiology in the state of Iowa.
  • Certified and holds current registration with the A.R.R.T. as a Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including general, surgical, portable, and CT exams, while adhering to radiation safety standards and best practices.
  • Ensure all images are accurately identified with correct patient identification, side markers, and technologist initials, minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Maintain radiographic quality through accurate patient positioning, equipment setup, and technique selection to produce timely and reliable imaging results.
  • Accurately document exams and required information in the Radiology Information System (RIS), ensuring records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Assist radiologists and physicians with procedures, including patient care and the administration of contrast media and medications, as required.
  • Safely operate, monitor, and maintain imaging equipment; promptly report malfunctions to ensure optimal performance and patient safety.
  • Coordinate patient flow and scheduling to minimize delays, communicate any delays appropriately, and assist with patient transport when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff and other healthcare team members regarding patient condition, procedural changes, and care needs.
  • Verify required preauthorizations prior to imaging procedures.
