About The Position

We are looking for a computational research associate to join our lab group within the Gladstone Institute of Neurological Disease. The candidate will be a critical member of a team of biologists working to understand the role of the epigenome in neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The position will require the candidate to learn and perform basic and advanced computational biology techniques in the fields of single-cell biology, genetics, and epigenetics. This position will be research-based and fully computational with multiple opportunities for publication. The skills and experiences acquired from this position would provide a useful background for future pursuits in biological research-based graduate education and we place a strong emphasis on mentorship of the next generation of scientists. While prior laboratory experience is valuable, we place a greater emphasis on essential personal attributes such as organization, attention to detail, and communication skills. We have an established track record of helping young scientists achieve admission to graduate education programs and apply for and receive fellowships such as the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program. More information about the laboratory and its current and past members can be found at www.corceslab.com Please do not send a separate email regarding your application. All applications will be reviewed on Workday and additional emails unnecessarily add to the administrative workload of the hiring team.
