This role develops Grasshopper scripts, integrates Rhino for complex 3D modeling, and builds automation routines to improve accuracy and efficiency. The incumbent also validates parametric outputs, supports cross-platform integration, and provides training and best practices to scale design processes across the team. What’s in it for you!   • Parametric & Computational Tool Development Develop, maintain, and optimize Grasshopper scripts for pattern generation, panel layouts, shop drawing automation, and fabrication logic. Build tools to reduce manual drafting, improve consistency, and minimize errors. Prototype computational workflows to accelerate delivery and enhance accuracy.
  • Rhino-Based Modeling & Documentation Lead Rhino integration for complex 3D modeling, architectural shop drawings, panelization, and assemblies. Coordinate Rhino workflows with CAD/SolidWorks during production transition.
  • ShapeDiver & Web-Based Parametric Tools (Preferred) Build web-configurable tools with ShapeDiver for client previews, estimating, and product standardization. Translate Grasshopper logic into cloud-ready, scalable tools.
  • Automation, Scripting & Cross-Platform Integration Implement automation routines to complement existing workflows. Develop Python or C# scripts to improve design-to-manufacturing integration. Collaborate with IT/operations on future integrations with PDM, ERP, CPQ, and fabrication software.
  • Design Support & Fabrication Coordination Validate parametric output against manufacturing constraints and installation logic. Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Install Teams to ensure accuracy and buildability.
  • Training, Documentation & Workflow Scaling Create best practices, SOPs, tool documentation, and onboarding materials. Train designers on Rhino, Grasshopper, and computational workflows to enable scalable growth.
  • Advanced proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper; strong experience in parametric modeling and computational design workflows.
  • Ability to develop custom scripts in Python and/or C# for automation and cross-platform integration.
  • Understanding of CAD and SolidWorks workflows for production coordination.
  • Strong grasp of fabrication logic, precision tolerances, and installation requirements.
  • Comfortable iterating rapidly and solving complex geometry problems.
  • Exceptional visual design sense, pattern/graphic sensibilities, and spatial problem-solving.
  • Self-starter with ability to lead computational design initiatives and establish new technology frameworks.
  • Highly meticulous while maintaining awareness of project goals and constraints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills: able to identify inefficiencies and create innovative solutions.
  • Collaborative mindset; skilled at working cross-functionally with design, engineering, production, and IT teams.
  • Clear communicator, capable of explaining complex workflows to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptable to evolving technologies and processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, industrial design, engineering, or related field (Master’s a plus) OR equivalent industry experience required.
  • High school diploma required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in computational design, parametric modeling, or digital fabrication workflows required.
  • Familiarity with ShapeDiver or similar platforms for cloud-based parametric tools.
  • Experience implementing automation routines and integrating with PDM, ERP, CPQ, or fabrication software.
  • Experience in architectural metals, façade systems, rainscreens, or similar building products.

  • Portfolio demonstrating Grasshopper workflows, parametric thinking, and complex geometry preferred.
