HDR is seeking to hire a Computational Designer Intern to join our Data-Driven Design team. This role welcomes individuals pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in architecture or engineering with a strong foundation in computer science. As a Computational Designer Intern, you will play a vital role in developing innovative design tools that HDR designers worldwide will utilize. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
  • Interest and some experience in computational design related to architecture.
  • Basic knowledge of software development and experience with programming languages like Python, C#, or Java.
  • Experience with computational design platforms and tools (such as Rhino/Grasshopper, Dynamo, Revit).
  • Interest in learning about the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence in architectural design.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop computational design tools and workflows to improve the architectural design process.
  • Work on creating and applying AI solutions and applications to enhance architectural design.
  • Work with teams from different disciplines to integrate computational design solutions smoothly into projects.
