About The Position

BlueHalo, an AV Company, has an opportunity available for a Computational Biologist to join our team working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. This position will support research within the Human Performance Directorate, 711th Human Performance Wing. The individual in this position will perform analysis of transcriptomics and whole-genome data, build, validate, and maintain data pipelines implementing these analyses, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to design experiments aimed at maximizing quantity and quality of output data. This position will provide analytical and statistical support to a wide variety of human performance studies, including human subjects and studies with cell models. The position's primary responsibilities will be performing and automating data analysis, consulting with PIs to optimize data quality and experimental design and generating written and graphical results. Additional duties may include technical writing, training, and consulting/collaborating to develop and implement new biological statistical analysis methods.

Requirements

  • M.S. in Bioinformatics or related field
  • 2-6 years of relevant professional experience
  • Proficient in R and Python
  • Familiar with Linux-based computing environments
  • Experience performing quality control, sequence analysis, differential expression analysis, and pathway analysis on bulk and single-cell RNA data
  • Experience with whole genome and methylation data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be proficient in technical writing and presentations
  • U.S. Citizenship required
