The Lead Compressor Operator is responsible for operating the compressor station and supporting Compressor Operators in troubleshooting and maintaining equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This includes troubleshooting and repairing complex engines and components, compressors, PLC components, relief valves, and regulators. The Lead Compressor Operator must respond to emergencies, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and after-hour calls. The Compressor Operator operates the compressor station safely and efficiently and also responds to emergencies and overtime calls. This job summary does not restrict management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time.

  • Operate and maintain reciprocating or turbine compressor engines and other station systems.
  • Perform operation, maintenance, and housekeeping on compressors, engines, dehydration systems, and plant support systems.
  • Provide support for pipeline and measurement facilities.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • Successfully perform all duties assigned to Compressor Operators.
  • Successfully operate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment at alternate compressor(s) than assigned.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and repair complex engines and components, compressors and components, PLC components, relief valves, and regulators at multiple stations.
  • Experience in natural gas compression and dehydration processes and knowledge of natural gas pipeline related maintenance and construction activities.
  • Knowledge of processes and operations including related DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • Associate degree in an industrial or mechanical related field or equivalent work experience acceptable to the Company.
  • Ability to analyze problems and take corrective action.
  • Possess good mechanical and electrical aptitude and have proven human relations and computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license and meet applicable DOT mandated commercial driver requirements.
  • Must be able to perform all the essential functions required of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • AAS in Power Plant Technology, Mechanical, Diesel or Automotive preferred.
