About The Position

We are seeking Field Operator III (Compression Operators) to support gas lift operations at our Hwy 80 location between Midland and Big Spring. This role is focused on compression operations — no mechanical work is required as most compressors are 3rd-party owned. The position is best suited for local candidates with strong compression and troubleshooting experience who can ensure reliable support across a large operating area with over 100 gas compressors.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a Field Technician with strong compression troubleshooting background
• Mechanical aptitude helpful, though mechanical repair of compressors is not part of this role
• Strong communications skills (oral & written)
• Knowledge of pipeline operations, safety management tools, and emergency preparedness
• Familiarity with production operations and gas lift support
• Secondary education required; oil & gas experience preferred
• Local candidates strongly preferred due to daily schedule

Responsibilities

• Operate wells and equipment in alignment with safety and operational procedures
• Troubleshoot and support compression operations for gas lift systems
• Monitor wells and equipment to identify optimization opportunities and ensure safe conditions
• Participate in toolbox and safety meetings; reinforce a strong SSHE culture
• Accurately document operational events, shift changes, and maintenance activities
• Collect samples for lab analysis and execute field-level testing
• Support corrective, predictive, and preventive maintenance planning (not direct mechanical work on compressors)
• Assist well diagnostics and ensure equipment readiness for well work interventions
• Respond to emergency activities as required, including incident reporting
