About The Position

The Compressor Lead is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and compliance of compressors in the field. This role focuses heavily on vendor coordination, performance tracking, and preventative maintenance scheduling — with leadership responsibility to drive reliability and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in compressor operations, maintenance coordination, or oil and gas field operations
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in mechanical, petroleum, or industrial systems preferred
• Ability to translate technical performance data into actionable steps for vendors and internal teams
• Skilled in vendor relationship management and contract negotiations
• Proficient in downtime reporting tools, maintenance tracking systems, and cost analysis spreadsheets
• Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on uptime improvement
• Clear and concise communication skills to align internal and external stakeholders
• Leadership capability to manage multiple concurrent field priorities without sacrificing safety or detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead meetings with compressor vendors to review downtime and reliability.
• Prepare/distribute performance reports; consolidate vendor input for internal action.
• Maintain accurate tracking of all compressors, including type, location, and maintenance history.
• Coordinate with vendors on scheduling per OEM standards; confirm completion and address findings.
• Monitor utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs; provide monthly/ad hoc reports to leadership.
• Ensure activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
