This full-time position is ideal for candidates who are energized by challenging cases, passionate about equity, and committed to mentoring the next generation of physicians. We are particularly interested in applicants with fellowship training in cornea or glaucoma, though experienced comprehensive ophthalmologists with a strong interest in trauma and surgical management are also encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • MD or DO with completion of an ACGME-accredited ophthalmology residency
  • Strong comprehensive candidates welcome; Fellowship training in cornea or glaucoma preferred
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in ophthalmology
  • Demonstrated commitment to resident teaching, clinical excellence, and health equity
  • Eligible for licensure in the state of Georgia

Responsibilities

  • Manage a busy, personally staffed outpatient clinic
  • Participate in the surgical care of patients, including trauma and complex pathology
  • Supervise and teach ophthalmology residents in both clinical and operating room settings
  • Provide consultative services for Grady’s Emergency Department and inpatient units
  • Participate in departmental and community initiatives focused on equity, access, and innovation in eye care
