About The Position

The Comprehensive Literacy State Development Program Coordinator at the Oregon Department of Education is responsible for managing the Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Grant Program. This role involves serving as the state point of contact and liaison for the program, interacting with various stakeholders, and overseeing the implementation of state policy and direction for the CLSD Grant Program. The position is a limited duration role with potential for extension, emphasizing collaboration, equity, and support for educational initiatives across Oregon.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience coordinating or administering a program, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state grant administration.
  • Experience with hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Knowledge of Oregon Administrative Rule processes and development.
  • Understanding of budget and agency operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) Grant Program.
  • Serve as the state point of contact and liaison for the CLSD Grant Program.
  • Interact with state contacts, district leaders, schools, parents, and federal representatives.
  • Implement the CLSD Grant Program in collaboration with agency leadership.
  • Provide training and support for CLSD Grant recipients.
  • Establish state policy and direction for the CLSD Grant Program.
  • Develop and recommend program and policy changes for the CLSD Grant Program.
  • Collect, analyze, and evaluate data and policies related to the CLSD Grant Program.
  • Manage system development for the CLSD Grant Program, including timelines and forms for grant applications.
  • Lead the Literacy Team in developing a Statewide Comprehensive Literacy Strategic Plan.
  • Coordinate with state and federal agencies, ESDs, school districts, and public charter schools for program implementation.
