About The Position
Chewy, America's #1 pet pharmacy, is seeking Compounding Pharmacy Technicians to join our amazing team! This position offers a starting wage of $19.00 per hour and is full-time. Our pharmacy team members play a crucial role in ensuring that pets, pet parents, and pet partners are happy by providing high-quality compounded medications. As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for performing general non-sterile compounding duties under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, ensuring that all medications are compounded safely and accurately. You will also be involved in maintaining the compounding environment, monitoring inventory needs, and ensuring compliance with compounding standards, including USP regulations. In this role, you will obtain proper materials or chemicals as instructed, affix appropriate labels to final prescription products, and use electronic compounding software. You will operate and maintain complicated pharmacy equipment, clean the compounding area daily, and respect confidentiality guidelines of HIPAA. Additionally, you will be expected to effectively communicate with customers and staff members while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude. The position may expose you to chemicals used in the preparation of compounds, some of which are classified as hazardous, requiring adherence to special safety precautions.
