About The Position

Combines medications and chemicals for specific use at Cincinnati Eye Institute and other facilities. Follows USP 797 guidelines, PCAB, FDA, and State of Ohio Regulations.

Requirements

Requires a Master's in Science in Pharmacy from an accredited school or equivalent, with 2 years of Pharmacy experience.
Ohio License required
At least 2 years of pharmacy experience required.
Knowledge of dosages, interactions, and side effects of medications required.

Ability for basic to intermediate problem solving, including mathematics
Basic to intermediate computer operation
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Travel to other site locations may be necessary. Thus, those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation, and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards
Specialty knowledge of systems relating to job function
Knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines

Responsibilities

Compound, weigh, and record chemicals before combining to meet dosage requirements.
Work with pharmacies to ensure a proper understanding of their needs.
Maintain a drug inventory and provide counseling to physicians.
Conduct and recommend stability studies on formulations.
Review analytical work done by independent labs.
Prepare for and assist audits by the FDA and DEA
Assists with monthly planning and making daily assignments for the Pharmacy Staff.
Maintain knowledge of medications' dosages, interactions, and side effects per symptoms and treatments.
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.
Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization, as defined by management.
