Position Summary The Compounder is responsible for accurately weighing, measuring, and mixing raw materials according to established formulas and procedures to produce batches that meet quality and safety standards. This role ensures all production activities follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety guidelines, and company protocols while maintaining accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training in manufacturing or chemistry preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in compounding, mixing, or manufacturing operations (chemical, pharmaceutical, food, or related industry).
  • Knowledge of GMP, safety standards, and handling of raw materials/chemicals.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow formulas, batch records, and SOPs.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Basic math and measurement skills required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Weigh, measure, and combine raw materials according to batch records and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate mixing and blending equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor compounding processes, adjusting settings as needed to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Perform in-process quality checks, including pH, viscosity, and appearance testing.
  • Accurately complete production and batch documentation to ensure traceability.
  • Maintain cleanliness of compounding rooms, equipment, and utensils in compliance with GMP and safety standards.
  • Assist in equipment changeovers, cleaning, and setup to minimize downtime.
  • Report deviations, equipment malfunctions, or material discrepancies to supervisors immediately.
  • Follow all company safety protocols, including the proper handling of chemicals and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with quality, production, and warehouse teams to support production goals.
