About The Position

Set up, operate, and tend to equipment that heats, mixes, blends, and/or process ingredients in the manufacturing of food products by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read two and three syllable words
• Recognize similarities and differences between words and a series of numbers
• Ability to read formulas and to print and speak simple sentences
• Perform addition and subtraction of two digit numbers to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
• Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Knowledge of Inventory software
• Must be able to obtain OSHA required Forklift Certification

Responsibilities

• Mix, measure, and weigh ingredients
• Set up and operate equipment that mixes or blends ingredients used in the manufacturing of food products
• Determine mixing sequences based on knowledge of temperature effects and the solubility of specific ingredients
• Place products on carts to transfer them to the next stage of processing
• Fill kettles, tanks or pots, with ingredients by opening valves, starting pumps or directly by hand using pipettes or cups
• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed
• Marks materials with identifying information
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
• Uses computer to enter and maintain inventory records
• Compiles worksheets or tickets from customer specifications
• Operate forklift and other conveyance equipment
• Reports food safety issues to the Production Manager or Operations Director
