The Composite Technician position at ACP Composites involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the fabrication of composite materials. This role requires detailed fabrication skills, including proper vacuum bagging and debulk techniques, as well as the operation of thermal equipment and post-processing of cured parts. Technicians are expected to read and understand complex written instructions and adhere to strict quality protocols, ensuring that all processes meet the company's high standards for quality and efficiency. In this role, technicians will create composite flat, assembled, or molded parts according to custom specifications provided by clients. They will follow Traveler document instructions to fabricate using various layers of peel ply and pre-preg carbon fiber, demonstrating mastery in fabrication and bonding techniques. The position may also require the use of thermal processing equipment, maintaining Qualified Operator status, and performing post-production processing tasks such as countersinking, bonding, and finishing through various methods including filing, sanding, grinding, cleaning, cutting, deburring, trimming, and hand-working materials. Technicians will be responsible for following written instructions, including Travelers, Quality Procedures (QPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). They must ensure accurate and consistent manual and automatic data entry to maintain a complete and error-free materials and manufacturing history. Participation in continuous quality improvement training is also expected, along with maintaining cycle time and pacing necessary for on-time material flow. Technicians will work closely with the Manufacturing Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, or Quality Engineer, and must ensure a safe workplace by adhering to all safety procedures while maintaining an organized personal workspace.
