About The Position

ARC Technologies LLC, a Hexcel company, is the leading manufacturer of radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) absorbing materials for defense and wireless applications worldwide and part of Hexcel, a global leader in advanced composites technology. Hexcel is currently seeking a Composite Technician I at our Amesbury, MA location. Pay Range: $23.50-$27.00 per hour PLUS $4 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift (Monday-Friday 3:00PM-11:30PM) In this role, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of composite materials, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. Your expertise will contribute to the development of advanced composite components that are critical to our innovative projects.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent, required
  • Must have good attention to detail and be able to follow written directions
  • Have the ability to stand 8 hrs. per day
  • Manual dexterity
  • Legible handwriting as well as good verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to adherence to PPE requirements, compliant handling of chemicals, and safe ergonomic practices
  • Excellent vision; ability to identify defects within the coating process, raw materials and final product
  • Basic mathematical skills required with the ability to convert to/from square to linear feet
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • This position is restricted to U.S. citizens due to U.S. government contract regulations that require the employment of only persons who are U.S. citizens.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in aerospace, automotive, or marine manufacturing industries
  • Proficient in the use of tools and equipment for composite fabrication, such as autoclaves and hand tools
  • Knowledge of quality assurance techniques applicable to composite manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Ability to independently fabricate composite parts using knowledge of various techniques including hand layup, vacuum bagging, and autoclave curing to meet engineering and quality specifications
  • Conduct thorough inspections of composite materials and finished parts to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions to accurately execute production tasks
  • Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges
  • Maintain accurate records of materials used and fabrication processes followed to support traceability and quality assurance efforts utilizing Apriso and AX
  • Proactively participate in our safety-first culture
