Starting Wage: $22.75 Position: 1st shift -Prep/Assembly 2nd shift- Lamination Position Summary: This position is responsible for producing high-quality fiberglass parts using an open mold process. We provide hands-on training to learn how to be successful in this role POSITION SUMMARY: The Composite Operator plays a crucial role in the production process, focusing on the fabrication and assembly of composite materials to ensure high-quality products.

Requirements

  • Able to wear a respirator
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to reach and bend consistently
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs. regularly
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment
  • Ability to work in harmony with others while maintaining a positive and professional attitude with overall success in mind
  • Evidence of a satisfactory work record, including performance, attendance, and teamwork
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in composite manufacturing is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of composite materials and related techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in both team and individual settings.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality output.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in composite manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hand lay-up of fiberglass material into the mold
  • Utilize rollers to work the sprayed resin into the material, thoroughly wetting the material and removing entrapped air and smoothing out any wrinkles
  • Prepare molds and materials for composite production.
  • Utilize hand lay-up and resin infusion techniques during the manufacturing process.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Follow safety protocols and quality standards throughout all processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve production goals.
  • Maintain equipment and perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Document production activities and any discrepancies for quality assurance.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and training as required.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
