The Structural Thermoplastic Composites team within Boeing Technology Innovation (BTI) is seeking a Composite Materials, Process, & Physics Engineer (MP&P) to join our team in Berkeley, MO. Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate and Mid-Level Engineer. This team is part of the Composites, Materials, and Structures organization within BTI, and is responsible for researching, developing, and scaling new thermoplastic composite material systems and their associated fabrication methods. This position will support the Structural Thermoplastic Composite Development laboratory and work closely with external suppliers and internal customers to support the implementation of thermoplastic composites on commercial and defense platforms. In this role, the experienced engineer will perform material characterization and selection, process development, and troubleshooting of polymer matrix and fiber-reinforced composite systems for aerospace applications. They will conduct manufacturing risk reduction efforts to demonstrate the feasibility of thermoplastic composites in new commercial and defense applications. This role offers hands-on exposure to lab-scale processing, and cross-functional work with the structures, production, and testing communities. Prior structural analysis or design experience is highly preferred.
