Are you a precision-driven craftsperson with a passion for aerospace-grade materials? We are seeking a Composite Manufacturing & Repair Technician to join our production team in Bingen. In this role, you won’t just be following a script—you’ll be a vital part of the entire lifecycle of a component, from raw material layup to final finish work. Whether you are performing complex wet layups, executing high-precision repairs to OEM standards, or crafting one-of-a-kind molds for our R&D department, your work will directly impact the quality and safety of our flight structures. Meet the Team: The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most sophisticated small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). It can be used day or night by US and allied forces for a diverse range of intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) on land and at sea. Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years experience in composite manufacturing and repair, or similar experience.
  • Citizenship: This role requires US Person Status under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license).
  • Onsite: 100% - Daily except when on travel.
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screen and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings daily
  • Hearing: able to hear to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds including safety warnings or alarms daily
  • Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily
  • Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily
  • Carrying: able to carry documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily
  • Lifting: able to lift documents, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily
  • Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture occasionally
  • Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer daily
  • Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally
  • Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices daily
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice rarely
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily
  • Personal Protective Equipment required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Performs composite manufacture and repair related to molds, wet and prepare layup, re-work/repair of existing structures.
  • Perform finish work including sanding and painting.
  • Create one of a kind molds and composite components for Research and Development.
  • Perform in-depth inspection of outsourced composite components.
  • Notifies affected parties when clerical errors are discovered or documentation is incomplete.
  • Keeps track of Calibration/Certification dates of equipment and tooling.
