About The Position

As a Component Engineer, you will lead cost reduction initiatives, manage End-of-Life (EOL) component transitions, and collaborate closely with teams across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production. You'll analyze opportunities, develop action plans, and help ensure that Kustom Signals continues to deliver high-performance, cost-effective technology to our customers.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years of directly related experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in engineering roles, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in supplier coordination and product lifecycle management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across departments.
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to read technical documents, interpret engineering drawings, and analyze data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, database applications, and 3D modeling software.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or product development environment is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and balance short- and long-term goals.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and implement cost reduction projects that enhance operational efficiency and lower the total cost of ownership.
  • Serve as the liaison to contract manufacturers and lead EOL reviews and replacement strategies.
  • Develop and manage project plans, ensuring they stay on-time, on-budget, and aligned with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to implement component changes and product improvements.
  • Maintain active tracking systems for cost-saving opportunities and EOL component management.
  • Conduct quarterly brainstorming sessions to identify and evaluate new project ideas.
  • Prepare detailed reports, logs, and communications to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.
