About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Requirements

  • B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or another relevant field.
  • Minimum of 1+ year of professional experience in pressurized component or system level testing, including test planning, execution, and data review.
  • Test engineering experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, cryogenic, and/or similar systems.
  • Working knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, actuators, servo-valves, flexible elements, and fittings.
  • Experience with sensors, instrumentation (pressure transducers, accelerometers, etc.), and data acquisition/controls.
  • A dedication to safety, including experience working with hazardous pressurized or other relevant systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deliver results with minimal oversight.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to test sites across the country.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of applicable industry experience (launch vehicles, satellites, aircraft, oil & gas).
  • Proficient with data capture, analysis, processing, and reduction techniques.
  • 2+ years of experience in design, operation, testing, or production of pressurized (up to 6000 psi), cryogenic, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic systems.
  • Experience working with environmental, structural, and dynamic testing.
  • Experience safely automating setups for long duration testing or to increase production throughput.
  • Experience taking components or systems through aerospace qualification programs.
  • Familiarity with precision clean hardware and systems.
  • Experience with Environmental Testing (proof, leak, vibration, thermal, etc.) per SMC-S-016, MIL-STD-1540 or MIL-STD-810.
