About The Position

The Component technician is responsible for the repair and overhaul aviation components while maintaining a safe work environment. The technician will perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • 2 years of relevant/technical work experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Be detail oriented and organized.
  • The ability to teardown, inspect, parts requisition, assemble, test, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul aviation components.
  • Be flexible to workloads/priorities changes based on customer requirements.
  • Maintain an orderly and productive work environment.
  • Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and data required.
  • Willing to work additional hours when operational objectives require it.
  • Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.
  • Basic computer operating skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Demonstrated track record of dependability, accountability, and problem-solving.
  • Maintain a positive attitude, show resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Foster a positive attitude even in challenging situations.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of relevant/technical experience in the aviation industry.
  • Knowledge of brakes, wheels, and oxygen aviation accessories preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Disassembles, cleans and inspects product
  • Operates basic equipment (drill press, media blasting, parts cleaners)
  • References CMMs and/or work instructions
  • Documents status updates using computer
  • Completes training and shows proficiency for multiple product types
  • Completes training and shows proficiency for at least one product line
  • Use of computer to identify and order parts
  • Becomes trained in 2 operations departments.
  • Communicates delays to Department Lead
  • Meets quality and delivery standards.
  • Other duties as assigned
