About The Position

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Component Engineer based in the Orlando Service Center location. The Component Engineer position is an entry level position that requires knowledge of engineering principles and begins to develop specific application knowledge and skills through training and work assignments. The Component Engineer position provides technical support to the manufacturing, repair, and field service organizations and assumes technical responsibility for entire assigned family of components to safely deliver quality components based on customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline, with demonstrated expertise in gas turbine components and repair processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, perform necessary calculations, and make sound decisions based on specifications and requirements. Geometric Dimension and Tolerance experience a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write technical reports and present information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced skills in email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and technical documentation tools.
  • Capable of analyzing data, solving complex problems, and interpreting technical instructions.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or experience with gas turbines preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for assigned components, resolving issues and ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Lead and manage component-specific repair projects, including scope development, process mapping, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain repair process templates, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure project completion, documentation, and first article inspections.
  • Support process optimization by eliminating non-value-added work and improving efficiency.
  • Provide engineering support for product and process improvements, including customer updates and technical reporting.
  • Ensure nonconformance dispositions and authorize use of local-repair materials.
  • Drive cost and cycle transparency through collaboration with manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial teams.
  • Support ISO 9001 compliance and audit readiness.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Participate in team-building efforts and communicate effectively across all levels.
  • Travel as needed (up to 15%).
