Position Overview The Compliance Specialist serves as a key partner to teams across the credit union, providing regulatory insight and practical guidance. In this role, you'll help ensure policies, processes, and daily operations align with applicable laws and regulations while promoting consistency, transparency, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or industry certifications preferred
  • 2-4 years of compliance experience, ideally within a credit union or financial institution
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain the Credit Union Compliance Officer (CUCO) designation
  • Strong analytical skills with careful attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret regulations and communicate requirements clearly
  • Collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving and communication abilities
  • Dedication to maintaining regulatory integrity and a culture of compliance

Responsibilities

  • Track changes to federal and state regulations and update policies, procedures, and member-facing materials accordingly
  • Maintain compliance documentation and oversee required regulatory reporting timelines
  • Assist with internal risk reviews, audits, and regulatory examinations
  • Identify potential compliance risks and recommend enhancements to strengthen processes
  • Serve as a compliance resource for employees across departments
  • Create and deliver training programs to build regulatory awareness
  • Partner with business units to embed compliance practices into everyday operations
