The Compliance Specialist Intern is responsible for assisting the Compliance Manager with maintaining compliance with all environmental regulations and permits. Why work for Clean Harbors? Assist the Compliance Manager with the preparation of reports and conduct on-site inspections, in compliance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. Responsible for archiving old files as directed by the Compliance Manager. Review facility permits to gain an understanding of the permit conditions/limitations. Keep abreast of the regulations/regulatory requirements by reviewing corporate compliance Q & A summaries describing regulatory changes. Maintain environmental compliance files. Notify Compliance Manager of incidents/accidents. Qualifications Enrolled in Environmental Science or Management Degree program Current student working towards bachelor’s or master’s Knowledge of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws/regulations Critical thinking: ability to identify the right audience, message, and goals The desire to learn and master new skills Analytical mind; Intermediate PC/Excel skills Required, Advanced Excel skills a plus Ability to handle multiple priorities Ability to maintain confidentiality Strong attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skill Results focused Wondering what to expect in starting your career with Clean Harbors?
