About The Position

The HIM Specialist at Legacy Healing Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of client records within the substance abuse treatment facility. This position supports the mission of providing exceptional care by auditing client charts, collaborating with clinical teams, and maintaining organized records of compliance activities.

Requirements

• Experience in compliance, auditing, or quality assurance within healthcare, behavioral health, or substance abuse treatment is preferred.
• Proficiency with KIPU or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems is required.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Audit client charts in KIPU to ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations.
• Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies by collaborating with clinical teams.
• Provide guidance to clinical staff on maintaining proper documentation practices.
• Maintain organized records of audits, findings, and corrective actions.
• Stay informed on compliance standards and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
