COMPLIANCE SAFETY HEALTH SUPERVISOR (CONSULTATION SUPERVISOR) Job Location: Address: Arizona Department of Occupational Safety & Health/Consultation Section 800 W. Washington Street, Phoenix The position will be located in Phoenix and will require traveling to Tucson 2-3 days a week. This successful candidate will directly supervisor for 3-4 positions. Indirectly, the position will help support another seven in the Phoenix Consultation Department when the Phoenix Consultation Supervisor is absent or out in the field visiting with an employer or organization. This position provides and promotes the Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health Consultation Program to a variety of employers across the State of Arizona through visits and outreach training, which includes conducting Voluntary Protection Program inspections; providing industry best practices when necessary; Recommending improvements to existing safety and health management systems; Reviewing annual SHARP and VPP summary reports from employers; Reviewing Arizona and National Bureau of Labor Statistics Data to determine injury/illness trends for Arizona businesses, Encouraging employer participation in an ADOSH Partnership program. The position also requires the active involvement in associations and external trade shows where ADOSH is invited to speak on the current trends for compliance and consultation best practices. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. Requirements

  • The ADOSH Salesforce Integrated Management Information Systems.

Nice To Haves

  • BS in a related Safety and/or Health field from an accredited college or university; or 6 yrs. of work-related safety exp in the following General Industry settings, Construction Industry, and Agriculture Industry where reports were drafted as a result of walk around audits of said industry; or 4 yrs work-related safety exp in the following: General Industry settings, Construction Industry Construction Industry. Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the Phoenix Consultation, Education, and Training Section to include: scheduling regular 1:1s, completing annual evaluations, and hiring for vacant positions.
  • Evaluate and coordinate safety and health visits received in the ADOSH Phoenix Office for high hazard industries or small businesses then distribute to appropriate consultant for scheduling.
  • Review and approve consultant Salesforce requests and reports, including any necessary forms discussed during the consultant's visit, cover letter, narrative presented, hazard evaluation, OSHA standards or rules referenced as well as recommendations for best practices.
  • Review and log trainer reports submitted by Training Officer and other ADOSH staff members. Review and approve completed Salesforce reports, including any necessary forms discussed during the consultant's visit, cover letter, narrative presented, hazard evaluation, OSHA standards or rules references as well as recommendations for best practices.
  • Answering and following through on questions generated by external customers who need the most up to date OSHA information so that they can implement it within their Safety and Health Management Systems, Safety Programs and workplace.
  • Refer employers to ADOSH Partnership programs or exemplary programs for consideration by the Assistant Director.
  • Assist Assistant Director with scheduled SHARP & VPP initial and recertification audits and review required annual SHARP employer submissions.
  • Promote, assist, and execute scheduled outreach training for external customers needing OSHA standards training through a request.
  • Participate in Safety Summits which requires this position's involvement in order to successfully complete the event.
  • Attend and complete scheduled safety and health training classes to improve upon skills necessary to enhance knowledge in the field.
  • Conduct presentations and training sessions in classroom settings as well as webinars on topics related to safety and health.
  • Perform oral presentations to trade groups, associations, organizations (public and private) including governmental or regulatory agencies.
