About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Compliance Response Team (CRT) Specialist to join our Compliance Response Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance training, project management, and file organization. This role requires travel to various sites to assist in compliance training, manage move-in files, and oversee annual recertifications for sites that have fallen behind. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a strong commitment to regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Low Income Housing Tax Credit regulations and Washington State Housing Finance Commission policies.
  • 2+ years of compliance, affordable housing, or related property management experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365; Yardi or RealPage experience highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, including presenting training.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable traveling between sites and working in varied environments.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the annual recertification process for sites lagging in compliance, ensuring timely completion of all necessary documentation.
  • Prepare and present status reports to the CRT Team Lead and upper management.
  • Communicate with onsite staff to address and resolve file discrepancies or deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with CRT Lead to create action plans for addressing compliance issues and to track their resolution.
  • Coordinate with site management and CRT Team Lead to establish timelines, assign responsibilities, and track progress.
  • Assist in the organization and review of move-in files to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal standards.
  • Verify that all necessary documentation is complete and accurate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and distribute annual recertification lists and notices.
  • Serve as a resource for affordable housing requirements and various AMI levels.
  • Provide weekly status updates to onsite staff and Portfolio Managers on open file progress.
  • Serve as a point of contact for questions or concerns related to compliance, offer guidance, and share best practices.
  • Travel to properties to deliver on-site compliance training and assistance.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions.
